Prevalence of domestic violence independent of culture

Project description

As part of the 30 day chart challenge 2024, I created this visual to accompany the prompt “OECD”. As I was browsing through the OECD database, this pattern was quite interesting to me. It goes against the assumption that countries with more violence-accepting cultures also experience more violent behavior.

Process

1. Data preparation – Browse the OECD database for interesting and relevant data stories to tell, then export raw data to Excel.
2. Plan and execution – Analyze data (Excel) and then visualize it (Adobe Illustrator).
3. Reflection and solution – Context added to the chart to create more of a comprehensive story.
