Grassroots Innovations – UNDP Accelerator Labs

Project description

As part of a Viz for Social Good brief I created this visual for the UNDP Accelerator Labs to highlight various grassroots innovations across the world.

Data was received as part of the VfSG project from UNDP directly. The charts were prototyped with RAWGraphs and the overall visualization was realized using Adobe Illustrator.

Process

1. Data preparation – Explore and clean the data that was provided in Excel. Create different granularity options by means of new variables. Identify relevant statistics for the final product.
2. Prototyping & feedback gathering – Statistics are visualized through different charts, shapes, levels of granularity in Excel, RAWGraphs and Adobe Illustrator.
3. Data visualization – The chosen charts are pieced together following a common visual alphabet.
