Gender equality growth in the European Union

Project description

As part of the 30 day chart challenge 2024, I created this visual to accompany the prompt “Circular”. As a feminist myself, I was happy to find this data from the European Institute for Gender Equality that shows the EU has become more gender equal in the last 10 years. Of course, some countries still have quite some work to do, but I’m all for holding out hope!

Process

1. Data preparation – Export raw data from both 2013 and 2023 to Excel.
2. Plan and execution – Analyze data (Excel) and then visualize it (Adobe Illustrator).
3. Reflection and solution – Context added to the chart to create more of a comprehensive story.
