Project description

As of March 2024, I create regular data visualizations for The European Correspondent, a media startup delivering daily digital newsletters with European news. Between June 2024 and July 2025, I was co-editor for our team of ~10 data journalists. As of August 2025, I fulfill a more strategic/advisory role as principal data journalist.

December 2024 – My “Netherlands is drowning” visualization was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.
October 2024 – My metro map was highlighted by Jonathan Schwabish on his LinkedIn.
August 2024 – My visualization on the Balkan brain drain was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.
August 2024 – My visualization about the usage of Vinted across Europe was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.
August 2025 – My visualization about European natural parks was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.
November 2025 – My visualization about Dutch cross-border shopping was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.
November 2025 – My visualization about Curaçao at the FIFA World Cup (an extra special one for me personally!) was featured on Datawrapper’s Data Vis Dispatch.

We curated a selection of our favorite visualizations and published them in a book to collectively paint a picture of our continent. More information on the book can be found in my portfolio.
